Eurosport 1 is showing some Zwift racing live NOW - which continues all week.

Dan Martin, Uran, Van Der Poel etc. in action on 2018 Salzberg Worlds circuit into last 10 km.

and there was a women's race which ended about 2:30 w/
Van Der Breggen, Vos, Uttrup-Ludwig etc.

in late March Thomas De Gendt was thrown off a Zwift race.
his power wattage output was so high the software thought he
was cheating and removed him from a race telling him:
" You missed your calling as a pro."

Nico Roche was off kicking ass on one of those Zwift gigs at one point too.

His career is mad, he just keeps cranking years out as a pro.

I'd imagine he's a hard, canny bastard at this point, perfect domestique really...

yeah, Van Avermaet won a Zwift Tour of Flanders and Olivier Naessens caught
Nico Roche near the finish and passed him for second place. about 14 started ?
good going considering Nico doesn't go near Flemish races and was up
against specialists. i'd say he rides Zwift a lot ?

Roche was going well last year but his leader Dumoulin missing the Tour was a disaster for team.
Nico was team road captain and had been quietly doing a good job for Matthews etc.
then Roche had a super start to Vuelta but crashed out in first week after leading
race for a few days.
a year where good form went to waste.

the races today were good fun. the end of the women's race was exciting with a very realistic finish.
a neo pro won the won the men's race in a sprint !

can't see there being any more races this year. Paris-Nice was a farce and shouldn't have started.
there probably isn't a city in the world more associated with bike racing than Bergamo,
the Italian cycling community must be particularly shaken by the pandemic.

ha !
love the way on Zwift riders can just cycle through each other.

both Zwift men's races on Eurosport the last couple of days
had surprise winners beating top classics riders.

i wonder could this become like the Grand Fondo circuit in Italy ?!
big prize money etc.

i used to be well up on who was honest and doped in the 2000's.
but in the last ten years, i really don't know.
i don't really have any favourites these days, just happy to see an exciting race.
actually i would have loved to see Pinot win the Tour.

no idea how honest French cycling is now.
they had a great decade compared to the 2000's when they were mostly
honest - crap but cool.

pro cycling has an extremely dodgy set of team sponsors now.
Middle Eastern governments seem to think sport is a nice PR gig
to cover up their bad reps.
not to mention Ineos, Total etc.

do Zwift do online dope testing ?!

since early-mid 2000's you can buy nearly anything (doping wise) you want online.
so online racing could become a bit of a farce i suppose.

the story about Thomas De Gendt getting kicked off a Zwift race
surfaced the day before April 1st so people thought it was a joke.

So the big towns with the social distancing (see wikipedia if you are reading this post 2021) are realising that they either can have space for cars or space for people and apparently its the people that actually will keep the businessess going to cycling / pedestrian setups are going to appear everywhere. This is positive, hope it sticks in the long term.

Bought a new bike recently. I'd show yiz but you'd all laugh at me.

As long as it isn't one of those horrific 'slants' from argos or wherever. We had to scrap so many of those it was unreal. I'm not a bike snob, the place I volunteer is all about keeping all types of bikes runnig. I do have notiony bikes now though.

Ah come on.

As long as it's European, completely made from high modulus carbon, apart from the tyres which are made from golden orb spider silk, it's probably fine.

Unless it's something silly like a 1 x road bike, or worse a road bike with a triple on the front, obviously.

Any of y'all ever install anything like this in your yard/garden?
Something to lock bike to that isn't a railing or whatever.

Summer's coming and I won't need to keep bringing the bike in.
Any thoughts?

Mate of mine got a little tiny sort of... tool shed? Basically a plastic box about the size of a big coal scuttle, that you can bolt to the ground. Bike goes into the box, lock, then there's a little lock on the door of the box.

Then it's out of sight, dry, and more or less safe. I'd get one if I wasn't in an apartment, the seemed sound.

Looks like it would be handy enough. What are you putting it in? Tarmacadam or concrete?
Concrete
Would rather core it and drop it in
But will bolt it on if I have to

Jut trying to think if there are other options someone might have done.
Gonna look on repurposing something else before I spend the money.
