most of these M.S. were in Frank Zappa's band when they met in the late 1970's. the guitarist Wayne went on to be in Duran Duran.

These guys crack me up.

I remember loving this at the time. And laughing at their docs.

Listening to it now, its musical, there are changes, parts. Its a band playing.
Sadly lacking in today's pop.

I saw them at one of those retro festivals a few years back! Woeful. That song is great though, the whole thing is almost like a parody of 80s music from a modern film!

I briefly loved KIng. I even put poster paint on the sole of my doc to make a bootprint on my schoolbag, and in art class made a little painted doc. Geez, what a loser I was.

Might have posted this beauty before... each one of these cunts is cranking out more effortless coolness in five minutes than I'd be able to gather up in a lifetime.

I’ve had that chorus in me head for decades but I don’t remember that song at all.

I bought six cds for a combined 2eu in a charity shop the other day, one of which was a Thomas Dolby compilation called Hyperactive! It's mostly deadly.

Features these absolute rippers:

May The Cube Be With You sounds really like PARLIAMENT ?! were they involved?
Just checked - DUH NUKE! OF COURSE IT'S GEORGE AND THE P FUNKERS. that was a surprise collaboration.

I was going to post 'Seven Tears' by Goombay Dance Band a forgotten bizarre Eurovision style tune that was a huge hit in 1982 staying at No.1 for several weeks in the UK and across Europe. BUT when I listened to it, it was even more morbidly horrific than I remember and I didn't want to get death threats.

Whoahhh that’s bringing back some memories.

what were they thinking ? what were the public thinking buying this in the middle of the new pop era ?
here's another tune by them about Robinson Crusoe.
WARNING THIS SONG IS ALSO REALLY DIRE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. it's not a euro pop gem like Rasputin or something if that's what you're expecting.

getting a bit political here with anti slavery / colonialism theme.

weird band. there was a lot of this safe light entertainment / schlager / variety show crap in the mid 70's but you kind of expect it to be gone by 1981.
