I gave up listening to the radio many years ago out of pure frustration of the choice of music broadcast, the repeated playlists the advertising the shiny FM compression the twats who open their mouths etc...
But recently, I've found a new home on my computer using internet radio. I've dabbled in the past but I've now a decent connection and the dropped connection/ buffering issue is no longer a problem.
I'm looking for recommendations for great stations/preograms/shows to check out that DON'T subscribe to the traditional radio format "top of the hour" "text us!" type of bullshit.
Stuff from my favorites list include:
WFMU - Yes, there is other cool stuff other than The Best Show.
BBC 6music - Clyris's show (sexiest speaking voice on a woman ever) & Big Mix tape are great at the weekend.
The Current - Minnesota Public Radio
The Frontporch - Great bluegrass station
Cinemix - Nothing but film scores - mazin
There are others but there top of my list
I'm not talking about podcasts, I want stations here
Cheers
