Can anyone make a compelling argument FOR paying this?

i asked this yesterday on THE TWITTERS and got 0 replies, but does anyone know who paid who back in the days of promotional flexidiscs that were given away with magazines? Or even the actual 7"s that Sounds used to do? Label or magazine publisher?

no idea - though the concept of play royalties mightn't be relevant there as theres a purchase but no play. slash's new album came out with a 132 page backslapping wankery edition of classic rock about 2 weeks ago, i was curious did that chart as a sale or not. I got rick astley's 'never gonna give you up' on vynil with smash hits in the 80's i think, the precursor to rickrolling.

I have a deal with the internet - it uses my music for free and I use its porn for free.

Don't listen to fat cat Pete with his Rolls Royce pension and all.

The Cast of Cheers pulled out of the IMRO Best of Tour showcase tomorrow night (which they were headlining) over this.

Nice one.

Makes perfect sense too since they haven't actually released anything in the traditional sense. Would be a weird affiliation. Respect!

If it's anything like some of the covermount cd's these days, the band pays for it. It's probably considered similar to taking out an ad.
