Bruce Davidson. got my copy of Subway in the post today. cracking pics of nyc subway back in the 80s.

Saw that show in the MOMA Nyc. it was amazing. The film he used is so eighties it's ridiculous. It looked extremely dated but in a good way. The prints weren't very big and there was about 30 of them in one room. It was a total assault on the eyes. it was brilliant.

just read it five mins ago, it is great. I was fairly hesitant taking out my crappy old 5MP digital a few years ago to take the odd photo on the subway! Spending a whole days on the thing in the 80s with a shitload of baggage and what looks like(and is) expensive equipment must have been very tempting to your average mugger. According to that intro he usually changed train after taking a flash photo cos all of a sudden it was clear that something was worth robbing in the carriage
