That kind of reminds me of a story I heard from some guy working in a music shop. He said an old nun came in with a microphone with a lead attached and asked him to fit a plug on it.

And now your horn is officially dead @hermie

As long as we agree it's coming out of the guitar you can call it what you want but I'd use electrical signal over electricity as electricity is transmitted at a continuous frequency (within a tolerance) and signal in this case will have a variable frequency depending on the note played (plus harmonics of course).

Here,put that lead out of the guitar.
The act of plugging a lead into the jack in doesn't change the function of the jack, like you can plug a lead into an output jack or into an input jack.
