For:

1) He's very clever, actually funny when he's not being over the top and possibly really REALLY well read, or he just remembers everything he hears so he can reference obscure novels and theories and make it sound like he knows what he's talking about.

2) He's the only good thing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (not that that's really a compliment)

3) His podcasts are very good


Agreed, his podcasts, especially the 2007 ones were inspired-witty, intelligent and self depreciating. I loved his relationship with his co-host Matt Morgan too. You could tell they were real mates by the way Matt constantly took the piss out of his. these are all available to download here . I can undaerstand why people don't like him, but give him a chance through the radio shows and I think peeps might change their mind.
