I really enjoyed Oculus and Absentia. Both made by Mike Flanagan. Both seemed to get mixed reviews, but I thought they were both done very well.

And for the record The Witchfinder General is an excelelnt film.

I'd agree that Witchfinder General is a great film. Aside from The Wicker Man, the best folk horror film is by far Blood On Satan's Claw.

Night Of The Demon closely behind that.

Actually, that and an audio tape of The Haunted Doll's House I played to death as a kid, was my introduction to the amazing M. R. James.

Nice to see another fan of Blood On Satan's Claw. Have you seen the Wicker Man sequel, pretty weak in my opinion. Wakewood is a fairly solid recent addition to the folk horror genre.

I think Night of the Demon is one of the rare examples where the film is better than the book/story (I even like that they showed the demon it - the creature has become such a horror icon).
Are you a fan of the 'A Ghost Story for Christmas' series? Personally I love them though they are lacking a little something that you find in Jame's stories. However I didn't like the more recent version of 'Whistle and I'll come...' with John Hurt.

I've heard the Wicker Tree is dire, I had such high hopes.

People have mentioned this as being up there with Blood on Satans Claw
