if you can't match the existing floorboards, you're looking at a total replacement. IIRC she mentioned the room was nearly 10m x 10m.
jaysus.
thats a bigger floor area than a lot of houses!
I'd stick with the chipboard.

Wouldn't you just get new boards ripped to match?
Then stain them all the one way?
Anyone says anything, break out the chipboard story
Of course, I'm basing all of this sight unseen and on 3rd hand info
So I may not have thought of quite everything
Plywood is an amazing product. I love it.I'm midway through reflooring my upstairs. Went with 18mm hard plywood.
floorboards are for losers
you can't* make bass guitars out of ply though.
*i'm sure you can.
Plywood is an amazing product. I love it.
And a wonderful subfloor.
I'd rather live with, and look at floorboards than almost any other flooring finish though
We put down OSB as a subfloor, sanded and varnished it and didn't, eh, surfloor it for years. It wore fairly well (would have survived better upstairs) was lovely underfoot and had a similar look to a cork floor.I'm priming and painting them all so will do as regular floor u man til we bother/can afford to put carpet or engineered flooring upstairs or whatever
didn't even know there was one on collins ave?which bring centre took that stuff? collins avenue?
yep, directly opposite the main entrance to DCU. i've dropped big cardboard boxes and WEEE stuff there before.
Was just gonna say the exact same thingWe put down OSB as a subfloor, sanded and varnished it and didn't, eh, surfloor it for years. It wore fairly well (would have survived better upstairs) was lovely underfoot and had a similar look to a cork floor.
It is bonkersgood to know - the north strand one can be tricky to get into with the cycle lane chaos on going at the moment
It is bonkers
Like how much excavation do you need to do for a fucking bus lane?
It seems like massive overkill
Just seems like massive overkill for what's basically a bus lanethey've also had to do some serious work along northstrand by the flats there, where they've had to move a retaining wall that's probably been standing the past 100 years or so.
Got in and out ok though today. I timed my run well, being very gentle on the breaks so I didn't get scalped by a flying sheet of cladding.
