that just doesn't read right, plankton is not some niche area of study AFAIK. talk of '500 data points' is odd, that's surely a tiny amount?

Yeah, this is why I am assuming no big sites are picking up on it. It's pure end of the world stuff otherwise.

and surely if we're down to that level fish stocks would already be effectively gone - given how central it is to the food chain.. many of the smaller species that rely on it have shorter life cycles etc,
perhaps hoping against hope here
