"One thing is clear. All milk alternatives are far better for the planet than dairy. A 2018 study by researchers at the University of Oxford showed that producing a glass of dairy milk results in almost three times more greenhouse gas emissions than any plant-based milk and it consumes nine times more land than any of the milk alternatives. (Land is required to pasture the cows and grow their feed, which the animals belch out in the form of methane.) "

i drink Rice Dream (but only fortified calcium version) to get calcium (duh!)
it's the only milk substitute drink i like.
drink about 3 or 4 litres a week.
if it wasn't fortified i wouldn't bother with it as it's expensive,
and has a fair bit of natural sugars, carbs and calories.
recently my local shop ran out of it, so over 8 days i drank
just water and just one day, a 200 ml bottle of orange juice.

an apple that comes from New Zealand will have a lower carbon
footprint than a similar sized piece of meat from the field
next door.

Ay but ... well, y'know, if they're a problem it's not a very big deal to round em up and ship em somewhere else. Or just shoot them

Yeah because everyone knows what it's like to round up eighty hippopotamuses which would no problem at all since they aren't remotely territorial or dangerous to humans.
