Here, I wasn't sure where else to post this

Has anyone else ever been asked by work to see a doctor they provide ?

Without going into too much detail, I have a chronic illness (epilepsy) which means I miss a lot of work. I have a doctor / specialist who provides work with the details they need etc, I don't get paid for days I miss and I also don't have cover when I miss work, so everything gets done regardless.

i've been asked to see their doctor who will now tell them if I'm fit for work. It makes me really uncomfortable, to be honest, because I feel it puts me in a very vulnerable position...

Iknow its a very specific situation, anyone have any experience of this?

I don't have experience, but that sounds like discrimination to me.

Your own doctor's notes should be enough.

Your own doctor might be able to give you advice.

I had to do a standard medical with a company doctor before I started my current job, which is quite common.
As 7 said, I'd check with your own doctor first if you've any concerns. I'm sure from the company's perspective, they may just want to ensure everything is kosher; however it might be a good idea to

This happens where I work all the time if someone is out a lot. I have seen people who were taking the piss be told to get back to work over it but I've also seen this doctor confirm their illness. I actually have no idea about the legalities of it all though. Sorry I can't be more help, I'll ask around people I work with though...

Had a word with someone there who went though it, he said the company doctor totally backed him up once it was clear that he was actually ill. He's pretty sure it's a scare tactic used by management, "go on prove your sick" kinda thing. Fucking bullshit tbh
