Few current acts can match the intensity and vibrancy of Haram. The latest addition to the Lovitt Records roster, Haram's members boast an impressive hardcore pedigree, a resume that spans a decade and over 1000 shows between the individual members with stints in Majority Rule, Pg. 99, Malady and City of Caterpillar. The band first assembled in Summer 2004 and played their first show in January 2005 to coincide with the release of their demo, which they put out themselves. Since then, Haram has toured with critically acclaimed acts, such as Envy and Darkest Hour.
Haram comprises seasoned veterans whose foray into territory most reminiscent of Drive Like Jehu and Sonic Youth is informed by the urgent ferocity of their previous bands. Jim Siegel recorded their first, self-titled LP, in Stoughton, Massachusetts. On this spectacular debut, Haram mines disparate facets of punk and noise to conjure something wholly cohesive and engaging. Matt Michel and Mike Taylor's dual guitars roil and churn, while Kevin Lamiell and Andy Gale form a kinetic and explosive rhythm section on bass and drums, respectively. Unrelenting and forward, Haram possesses a mature, tempered confidence that only comes with experience and do-it-yourself resolve. Their first full-length effort is truly a moody and atmospheric masterpiece.

Soldiers Take Half

Soldiers Take Half started out as the idea to create a full band version of vocalist Eoin Whitfield's Old Mand Eoin solo project. With an original line-up of, Eoin (Kidd Blunt) - guitar + vocals, Dara (Langdon Beck) - guitar + vocals, Greg (band virgin) - bass, and Kindo (Langdon Beck) - drums, the band soon ditched the idea of playing Old Man Eoin songs and began writing their own material, taking influence from the likes of Small Brown Bike, Gunmoll, At the Drive-in and Cursive.
Unfortunatly Dara quickly decided to reconsider his position in the band but thankfully Carl (ex R.T.F.) was on hand to replace him. Thus became the definititive Soldiers Take Half line-up and since then (late '03) they're shared the stage with the likes of Haymarket Riot and Minus The Bear as well as writing their first album's worth of songs, soon to be recorded and released by their local collective, The Hive.

Tunguska

Formed in late '05 when two brothers from Lublin, Poland, Miloz (drums, ex-Silence) and Igor (bass, ex-Antichrist, Juliette) decided to start a band in their new hometown of Dublin. They asked Damo (guitar, also of Easpa Measa, Mongolia) to play with them and he asked Andy (vocals, also of DeNovissimis) to scream. They quickly wrote and recorded a batch of songs, playing gigs with Army Of Flying Robots, Gasmask Terror and Burning the Prospect along the way. Then, in April '06, an ill-fated drunken evening led to Turlough (guitar, also of Kidd Blunt) joining. Currently writing new songs as a 5-piece, Tunguska plan to release a split 7" with DeNovissimis and a split 12" with The Bold And The Beautiful (Poland) before the year is out.

Eight Types of Destruction

Initially formed as a side project of the recently deceased Serpents musical beat combo which featured Mr Grimes and Ms O'Driscoll, but since that band has now gone the way of the dodo, this has now become a full time outlet for all involved. Mr Bushe currently plays with the Estel organisation, Mr Mifsud concurrently plys his trade with the Barntown Water Tastes Like Blood and Mr Grimes occasionally occupies a position as co vocalist with DeNovissimis. Ms O'Driscoll devotes her time to knitting and stalking boys when not screaming her little heart out with the group. Eight Types of Destruction is an entirely different kettle of heavy rock, based primarily in the "hardcore" and "metal" styles created and popularised in the latter part of the 20th century. However, due to a keen interest in other musical forms, and a unusually easy propensity for boredom, the group have been known to venture in to unexplored and faintly ridiculous musical terrain.
