I play an SG mainly because because they're super light. This is all well and good on a tiny aussie guy but I'm 6'2" and the SG is tiny (looks a bit crap, not that that matters etc). What's a good larger guitar?

better just get the comedy answers over with i suppose

It's all in your head, but tall lads playing guitar thread? I'm in.
They seem found of Jazzmaster/Jag style bodies.

gibson 535 or hondo 335 are massive. they also sound massive when used in anger. I got one of those offsets this year and its definitely a bit big looking.

I'm an inch or two shorter than you and never found the SG too small but I love the weight. Reverse firebird or an Explorer would be good bigger sized guitars along with the Jazzmasters/Jags.

I like those. They look just weird enough. Dude from the War on Drugs has one. I'm sure PJ Harvey has played a Firebird and looked suitably tiny behind it.

Gibson RDs look pretty big (and sweet), but they don't exactly pop up on Adverts every day.

This thread reminds me of wanting one of those sparkly purple j mascis squire jazzmasters that have gone out of production. Fat chance of finding one of those for cheap now.

@Anthony Jazzmaster bodies suit tall fellas alright. I think you'd like a 335 type. My Casino is a super light, but well balanced and feels substantial. You want a lender for a while? See if you like it?

Is there such a thing as a jazzmaster bodied guitar without all the jazzmaster bullshit. I suppose the RD/SG/Tele guts on a Jazzmaster shape.
Thanks for the Casino offer Mark, ChrisD is that the thing you have?

Behold the Telemaster

Yup, Fender actually took a hint from home guitar builders and started making an official version of this. For ages if you saw one it had been built from parts. Fender call it the 'Offset telecaster, and I think it looks class.

The difference is that the Casino is completely hollow, no center block. so its really light. More feedback prone too, but its nice feedback IMO.

You have 3 P-90s on that yolk as well right @mark? The Dot is fairly hefty, I'll bring it round on Tuesday anyway Anto.

That telecaster looks class! Ibanez have something similar called a Talman. Youtube guitar teacher Ben Eller has one. Looks sweet, but that Fender looks way cooler.

You can get Jazzmasters with a regular style pickup switch. Probably (more) expensive ones.
