Good Site List (1 Viewer)

So I guess the trick is, get it delivered to someone you know in the states and then have them send it to you? or will those creeps still open it? it's none of their fricken business!

Anyone checked out the KVR Audio page?
Seems to have a fair amount of plugins gathered together in one place, which is handy.
The plugins are all ranked as well (gsnap seems to be on top of the free plugins nearly all the time :))

Their own blurb: "KVR Audio is the Internet's number one news and information resource for open standard audio plug-ins. We report new releases, product announcements and product updates (major and minor) for all VST Plug-ins, DirectX Plug-ins and Audio Units Plug-ins (and RTAS too). We manage a fully searchable audio plug-in database (updated daily)..." etc. etc....

I just put in a commission for Vari Mu. Military grade at half retail of most others http://papa-movie.com/html/vari_gain_compressor_varis.html

I have a Solution S2 , it's really great. I put some NOS Mullards a while back that made it sound a lot better.
I haven't used it in a while though, kind of grown out of it.

The GR part of the meters stopped working not long after I bought it, but the builder is very helpful and....quirky, to say the least.
Still working fine 5 years on apart from that.

When you say you grew out of the S2, how come?

With regards to his QC did you have to send it the unit back or did Albert send over the replacement parts.

I've been warned a little about some units, but have not had a bad word about the Varis yet.

It's a real smooth/clean compressor, I just found I kept looking for something that was a bit more grabby, like vca types. Plus I've had it 5-6 years, your tastes change over time.

Albert was guiding me through fixing it myself, but I preferred them not working to be honest, then you're sort of forced to listen more carefully to the gain reduction. Rather than 'looking'. So in the end I wasn't bothered they were broke.

Thanks lemonbravo, the cleaniness of the unit is what am looking in the Varis. Understandable of change in taste. It's ordered anyways so I'll see how I get along and post back details/samples.
