I was there a couple of weeks ago. Berwick St area is still the best place. I spent all my money in Sounds of the Universe (just off Berwick), but they're more Soul / Funk / Reggae vibes

Also - if you've got a couple of days to spare there are a bunch of Record & Tape Exchanges next door to each other in Notting Hill each specialising in different things.

There used to be a branch of both on Berwick st, now they've kind of melded into one.

Berwick st is my favourite street in the whole of London, and not just for the record shops. It's a little microcosm of a city on one street, everything from fabric and fancy dress shops to fruit and veg stalls, good pubs and restaurants.... and a bit of sleazy old red light Soho at the end. All it needs is some trees (those little bushes in pots don't count).

Look out for the CD and Record Exchanges. They're all over the city.
