anyone done a big purge lately? A mate of mine did but he said he just dumped everything. I'd be more inclined to find a better home for whatever I decide to cull.

Do charity shops take CDs?

*a lot of the CDs I'll be getting rid of are YOUR bands.

Sounds like maybe these cds are not going to the charity shop now, but for the record I've had great success walking into charity shops empty-handed in advance and asking do they want cds/christmas decorations/cycling gear. Everyone seems to be very friendly and appreciate being asked and while it is two trips, it's a much nicer experience than lugging stuff around with the fear of being refused.

I offer shopping bags as well, when I have a big stash built up, and they always say yes to those too.

I also asked a man in a recycling centre if they recycled cd cases and he said yes.

Hiya, I collect independently released Irish music
1. to support the scene
2. coz I'm trying to create an interesting archive of local Irish releases.
3. (coz the missus says I'm a hoarder, can I argue?) :)
I would be happy to take any local cds off you mate.
(Dublin based)
Cheers

ok, you were a sounder to me before so what I'll do is fill a bunch of crates with CDs and you and @ernesto can have half each. It'll be random shite so don't get yer hopes up that any of it will be any use.

It'll be a couple of months. I'll let yis know.

Sounds more than fair

Let me just check though. Are you in Dublin?

Do you have a copy of 'lost in the former West' by Fatima mansions? I've not forgiven a colleague for losing my copy over 20 years ago.
I do not. But there's an idea for a new thumped thread, looking for old, lost CDs

I do have a copy of that Redneck Manifesto one that some lad kept coming here looking for a copy of, a while back. Can't remember what its called but it'll be in one of the boxes.
