Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

I always email the return address and point out it being illegal, but don't say my address. havent seen one for a while.

Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

It's a shame. Politics in Ireland.

Like, The Green Party stand for things people should believe in. (Protecting the environment, helping students, reducing VAT, healthier food) but they're so unappealing, so unenthusiastic and just badly run, that I have no interest in voting for them.

Tbh, I had my mind set on voting Labour but recently I think FG's policies are much more akin to my interest. Which is odd.

Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

I suppose what I'd say to anyone thinking of voting for Fine Gael is: LEO VARADKAR
Guy is a basically a monster.

Plus Enda Kenny is fucked in the head
in 2002
"Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny called the revered African liberation hero (Patrice Lumumba) a 'nigger' in a racist joke.
Kenny made the remarks at a private function in Dublin during a speech to party workers and journalists earlier this month.
During an anecdote about a holiday in Portugal, he said a Moroccan barman 'with shiny teeth' had been asked why a cocktail was called a 'Lumumba' and replied it was named after 'some nigger who died dans la guerre'."

He's a fuckin nut...

If you're going to vote at all vote for Independents... although I can't really be offering advice in this area since I won't be participating in this charade :)

Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

I was considering voting fg too but then i seen enda's haircut and snapped out of it.plus the two candidates in my area are terribly unappealing.

Sure this is it. What are you supposed to do? The best person in your area might be Fianna Fail, so are you going to vote FF?
It's a question of which is more important. Your nation..... or your area?

Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

Independent all the way with me. Fianna Fail aren't even running anyone in my constituency really. Theres some burd I never heard of and they couldn't even find her a running mate.

Shane Ross is in my area. I'll vote for him because he might ruffle some feathers.

3 reasons I won't vote Labour or Fine Gael;

1: they're cunts
2: in the case of Fine Gael I reckon it'll be bad news if they get into government on their own
3: I don't believe in party politic shite. I'm more about the person.
4: Irish should remain compulsory. I know that might not be popular but heritage should be protected, regardless how hard the language is to speak.
5: I voted Fine Gael in the last bye-election up my way. George Lee. Fucking prick. I feel betrayed. For the last year and a bit my vote has been basically in the jacks.
6: The labour candidate up my way is a non-entity. I know nothing about him except that he said he'd retire after those bye-elections (alex white). Now hes decided he'll take the armchair ride into government and postpone that retirement. I got a leaflet through the door from him that was titled with the words, 'Keeping in Touch'. Fuck you you non-entity prick. Where the fuck have you been the last couple of years with your keeping in touch shite.
7: Alan Shatter is the most high-profile politician in my constituency (since seamus brennan died), and I can't bring myself to vote for someone with a haircut like that.

ok, more than 3 reasons.

Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

What good are independents generally? They'll be in opposition and will have fuck all chance to say anything. If FG use one or two of them to get to the number needed to form a government then they'll threaten to pull out of government unless they get all sorts of shite for their constituency. Not too keen on the parties either. Cynicism has got the better of me.

I live in dublin south east, nobody has called to the door. I want to ask Ruiari Quinn, labour education spokesman, if he is still chairman of the board of this crowd who's "primary objective is to commercialise the business opportunities that arise from university research".

Re: Boards.ie Voting Poll

at least this time independents might be a bit more principled (i.e. angry) than the last crowd, but i'm still extremely wary of voting for them.
usually people vote for independents because of local area work. i like to vote for councillors to do local shit. let TDs worry about national issues.
