Our front lawn is crap so I bought some lawn feed and chucked it all over it. Only after did I read the instructions and it says don't exceed putting on 70g per sq meter. I got the tape measure out and I have put on120g per sq meter. What do I do now? Apart from drink beer and not give a shit. I watered it already. Keep watering?

It was this stuff

I planted some clematis yesterday. There were instructions but I just dug holes put some compost I found in the shed around them and watered them. Mother nature...over to you.

I went to a environmental lecture about how town dwellings in ireland stubbornly must have a lawn at all costs even if its the smallest most symbolic thing on the planet or we psychologically are way less likely to consider it a home / house and realistically we should be moving the country into medium high rise soon for the environment but we just cant get past the whole small bit of grass thing. food for thought at least.

Anyways, when I run for mayor it will be on the platform of leaving as much of your garden wild as you can.

Building a pond this year myself. Still haven't mowed, planted some spuds to annoy the neighbors and made a bit of flat.

Predictive text version of "Dead head" maybe? I noticed our daffodils have withered and wondered if it's standard practice to remove the heads. I've seen people do it with house plants.

I got to use my leaf lower/vacuum to get rid of a years worth of old leaves, moss and pine cones. It was fun.

Just tidies them up. You have to let the leaves live for 6-8 weeks after the flowers die so the plant can complete it's life cycle and come back again next year. I wouldn't have bothered except my mum used to do it, and they were looking mad untidy compared to next door.
