Light House Cinema becomes FRIGHT HOUSE CINEMA for a season of spooky movies in Smithfield this Halloween
As part of its tradition of temporary name changes to reflect the time of year, season or new release at the cinema, Light House Cinema will become FRIGHT HOUSE CINEMA for a week of hellish treats this Halloween season. Like all good film fans, Light House Cinema takes Halloween and horror very seriously and is inviting people to celebrate the scariest time of year with great films, great cocktails and of course, great costumes! Fancy dress is heartily encouraged.

Cinema Book Club: Stephen King’s MISERY
Mon 28th Oct – 8pm
This month, the Cinema Book Club continues their tradition of celebrating the work of Stephen King in the witching month with his harrowing and brilliant novel Misery, which features Kathy Bates in an Oscar-winning performance as Annie Wilkes, the last person you ever want to rescue you from a car wreck (especially if she’s your “number one fan”). The film screens on Monday 28th October at 8pm on 35mm, and will be followed by a discussion in the bar about the Stephen King novel and William Goldman’s excellent adaptation.

Enjoy the encore presentation of the acclaimed National Theatre Live production of Frankenstein, directed by Danny Boyle and starring Jonny Lee Miller as Dr. Victor Frankenstein and Benedict Cumberbatch as The Creature.
Alternatively, catch Mel Brooks’ classic comedy Young Frankenstein, a comic paean to the classic Universal monster movies, or watch Gene Wilder and the brilliant Peter Boyle as they “put on the Ritz” in this hilarious and very clever comedy. It just wouldn’t be Halloween without it!
Young Frankenstein will be followed by a back-to-back screening of a brand new digital presentation of James Whale’s Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, both starring the inimitable (but oft-imitated) Boris Karloff. The perfect way to cap off your Halloween night.
Grindhouse Presents: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Tourist Trap Double Bill

Grindhouse Dublin, in association with Light House Cinema, are proud to present a double bill of Tobe Hooper’s original 1974 classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and the rarely screened cult favourite Tourist Trap.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre still remains one of the most controversial and influential shockers of all time. This is a rare opportunity to see the frenzied film on the big screen, a film which noted critic Rex Reed called “the most horrifying motion picture I have ever seen!” Tourist Trap is an eerie gem, which features an off-kilter atmosphere and a dose of macabre humour, making it the perfect companion piece to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre!
