______________________SATURDAY_________________________

Saturday line-up epicness at its best.
With an NME Best British Band 2012 award and four albums under their belt, KASABIAN will headline the main stage at Forbidden Fruit on Saturday night – a relatively small festival for an act who headlined Reading Festival and T in the Park amongst others last summer. The indie rockers promise to bring the audience to new heights with their ripping guitar riffs and raging onstage presence.

CRYSTAL CASTLES will also take to main stage in Kilmainham to showcase their signature experimental electronic beats. Having recently been nominated for NME Best International Band 2013, a new album on the shelves and a string of international dates, the duo is sure to thrill existing fans and show the newbies what they are all about.

JAMES BLAKE will bring his haunting electronic sound to the grounds of Kilmainham, this June. With new single ‘Retrograde’ receiving rave reviews and a nomination for British Male Solo Artist 2012, Blake will not disappoint.

For the first time since 2008, NEON NEON make their surprise return to Ireland. Following their Mercury-shortlisted first album of 2008 'Stainless Style', Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip’s second album 'Praxis Makes Perfect' in the pipeline and due for release in April of this year.

Godfather of dub reggae, LEE SCRATCH PERRY will return with his funky presence and sound having taken the main stage at Electric Picnic 2012 with Max Romeo by storm. The Grammy Award-winning dub pioneer is currently touring the US.

This June will see the mysterious Swedish act IAMAMIWHOAMI perform in Ireland for the first time. In a haze of anonymity, the electronic multimedia duo came on the music scene with a collection of youtube videos that went viral in 2012, and they released the album ‘Kin’; an audio visual project with each track accompanied by a related video. A visually and audibly outstanding performance is expected from this intriguing pair.
Back by popular demand, Dublin’s LE GALAXIE were one of the talking points of Forbiddne Fruit 2012 and we were indundated with requests to bring them back this year. The band have made quite a name for themselves since they first appeared on the scene back in 2008. Now a few years, a sky-high pile of rave reviews and many- many gigs later, there is one thing everyone will agree on, synth champions Le Galaxie know how to please the crowd.

The 11-piece orchestra of KORMAC’S BIG BAND will bring to Forbidden Fruit their interpretation of main man Kormac’s tracks. The band makes their sound with an array of instruments and media, creating a unique experience and with Glastonbury, Bestival, the Electric Picnic and Body & Soul festivals and a tour with Portishead, The Flaming Lips, Death in Vegas and Beardyman under their belt, the band will not fail to produce the goods.

Alternative Irish rockers known for their energetic performances, FIGHT LIKE APES will burst on the stage at Forbidden Fruit on 1[SUP]st[/SUP] June. The five-piece has been nominated for an array of awards; five Meteor Music Awards and a Choice Music Prize to name a few. They were named the fourth best Irish musical act of their generation by The Irish Times and in 2011, their album ‘The Body of Christ and the Legs of Tina Turner’ was nominated for the Choice Music Prize.

The disco – but not pop disco - TIERANNIESAUR are unlike anything else on the Dublin indie scene, and are sure to pack some hefty poppy punches on stage in Kilmainham, this June.

Belfast four-piece, GIRLS NAMES, is becoming ‘a band for all seasons’ according to Pitchfork. And with new album ‘ The New Life’ just released and the reputation they have made as an ‘enthralling’ band to watch live band, Forbidden Fruit goers are sure to be impressed with their expansive sound of their post-punk.

Marcus Goodwin of Bulmers said, “Anyone who made it to Bulmers Forbidden Fruit in 2012 will understand the unique appeal of this urban festival, right in the heart of Dublin. With such diversity of music, comedy, the arts, and food, there’s a really great vibe to Forbidden Fruit and Bulmers will again do its bit for festival goers by laying on a bus to make the festival experience even more enjoyable and accessible. Packed into the June Bank Holiday weekend, we look forward to Forbidden Fruit kick-starting a real Bulmers summer.”
Declan Forde of Pod said “We’re excited and delighted with the bill this year. Getting an act of the stature of Kasabian is a real coup and we’re fortunate that they wanted to play what is a relatively small festival for them. As with the previous two years, we’ve aimed to keep the bill for Forbidden Fruit as interesting and diverse throughout the two days from start to finish. Roll on June 1[SUP]st[/SUP] & 2[SUP]nd[/SUP].”

______________________SUNDAY_________________________
The legends that are PRIMAL SCREAM know how to create a storm on stage. The critically acclaimed rockers are due to release their new album ‘More Light’ this year. Their recent single ‘2013’ is taking the airwaves hostage, so if this is anything to go by Primal Scream are going to pull some very big new music tracks as well as classics out of their Forbidden Fruit bag.

Following their much lauded performance festival appearances, the irrespressible CHIC are back! The Grandfathers of R&B and funk with frontman Nile Rodgers, bring a disco powerhouse that will freak out the Forbidden Fruit goers.

FOUR TET was last seen at the Electric Picnic in the form of Four Tet vs Caribou. It was an electronica fan’s dream. Now they are coming back, they’re taking to the stage to shower Kilmainham in their signature punk electronica sound this June and transform Forbidden Fruit into an electronica haven. This will be a live show.

Video director turned musician, Yoann Lemoine works under the musical guise of WOODKID. The French man not only has a string of Grammy-nominated videos under his belt but is also set to release his debut album ‘The Golden Age’ this month. Festival-goers are sure to be blown away with Lemoine’s symphonic cinematic pop sound.

DAPHNI aka Manitoba aka Caribou. All amazing outfits brought to you by one man, Dan Snaith. Last time Snaith had his feet on Irish soil he was performing under his alter ego Caribou, as part of Four Tet vs Caribou, this time he takes to the stage alone and promises an un-missable show. With a list of recognitions under one arm and awards under the other, Daphni is well armed for the Dublin crowd awaiting him.

With a sold out Irish gig already this year and a string of UK dates, EVERYTING EVERYTHING are sure to draw the crowd down to Kilmainham. Their first album ‘Man Alive’ was Mercury nominated and their newly released album ‘ARC’ is receiving rave reviews across the board, so are sure to be unleashing some new and old material on the Forbidden Fruit crowds.

Toronto-based trio, AUSTRA are bringing their juxtaposition of classical music and electronic sound to Dublin. Austra's debut album ‘Feel It Break’ was shortlisted for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize and with a second album due in May, the performance promises to be an exciting mix of tracks.

DAUGHTER will return to Ireland following their sold-out gig in Button Factory in January with their atmospheric acoustic sound. Lucky festival-goers will hear new material as the trio finally release their debut album ‘If you leave’, this month.

Top Lancester outfit, BONDAX will return to Dublin following a US & European tour. The DJ/ producers went down a storm at their last Dublin gig and with their recent release of ‘Baby I got that’ EP.

Swiss and Vancouver-based DJ, CYRIL HAHN will play Forbidden Fruit as part of his European tour and upcoming sold out Dublin show. Famous for his occasional R&B electronic mixes.

Flamboyant Metropolitian artiste and entertainer, MYKKI BLANCO is the multi-faceted, multi-talented and multi-gendered womanly side of 24-year-old Michael David Quattlebaum Jr. Poet , rapper and actor all rolled into one, he is sure to incite and deal an incendiary performance .

Rising Irish electronic outfit, NEW JACKSON, are David Kitt and Diamond Dagger. All we need to say is if there was a roof over IMMA they’d bring it down.

Poor lineup.

Despite trying to create an internet buzz a few years ago, iamamiwhoami are pretty good, they put a decent effort into their crazy videos/performances. I'd highly recommend checking out their 'IN CONCERT' thingy (youtube it)

Very disappointing, thought it had great potential as a festival if they kept the line up's interesting, but that's dreadful. Can't see it returning next year.

Don't think I've ever heard KASABIAN, but aren't they the sort of band a Muse/Coldplay fan would warm to? Weirdly out of place.

The Porto Primavera is on May 30th & June 1st so a chunk of bands are unavailable (although there's no day breakdown of Porto Prima released yet but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some crossover).
