The true story of Hollywood's greatest comedy double act, Laurel and Hardy, is brought to the big screen for the first time. Starring Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly as the inimitable movie icons, Stan and Ollie is the heart-warming story of what would become the pair's triumphant farewell tour. With their golden era long behind them, the pair embark on a variety hall tour of Britain and Ireland. Despite the pressures of a hectic schedule, and with the support of their wives Lucille (Shirley Henderson) and Ida (Nina Arianda) - a formidable double act in their own right - the pair's love of performing, as well as for each other, endures as they secure their place in the hearts of their adoring public.

I just hope it picks up immediately after JW2 so all three can be watched back to back like one magnificent 5+ hour long movie.

Releasing in cinemas nationwide on October 19th, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE!

CELEBRATING ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY,

TIM BURTON’S CLASSIC COMEDY IS SUMMONED BACK TO IRISH CINEMAS

THIS HALLOWEEN, NEWLY REMASTERED

Dublin, 11th October – Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Beetlejuice (Cert 15A), the perennial and delightfully demented comedy from director Tim Burton, is back from the hereafter – and haunting theatres, for the first time ever with newly remastered DCP prints.

In time for Halloween, Warner Bros. Pictures is unleashing the film for a limited theatrical re-release beginning in selected Irish cinemas from October 26th.

A seminal classic of the ‘80s, Beetlejuice earned an Academy Award for Best Makeup, was ranked on AFI’s Top 100 list of Funniest American Movies and became part of the zeitgeist. Beetlejuice is also being adapted as a new Broadway musical, opening this spring, directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers, with an original score by Eddie Perfect and a book by Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King.

The film stars Michael Keaton, in one of his signature performances, as the iconic ghost with the most – a freelance “bio-exorcist” who is summoned by a recently-deceased couple, the Maitlands (Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis), to scare off the family that’s taken over their beloved home. But they get more than they bargained for with the fast-talking / insect-gobbling / shape-shifting spirit. Wynona Ryder had her breakout role as the rebellious daughter who befriends the Maitlands. The starring cast also includes Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O’Hara.

Beetlejuice was produced by Michael Bender, Larry Wilson and Richard Hashimoto. Michael McDowell and Warren Skaaren wrote the screenplay, and the story was by Michael McDowell & Larry Wilson. Thomas Ackerman was the director of photography, and Danny Elfman composed the music. The Geffen Company presents a Tim Burton film, Beetlejuice. The film is being re-released by Warner Bros. Pictures.
