I'd like one. Can you get them on Thomann? I couldn't find it. I bought a digital reverb rack unit a couple of weeks back but it's doing something funny when turned up really loud and I haven't touched it since.

very simple, a loop of tape passes over 5 or 6 tape heads first head is record the rest are play heads followed by and eraser. yes the tape wears out but on the old watkins units this can add a lot of "character" to the sound.

Nice! What does it do!?

A slightly different questions is, how do tape echo's work? If they work how I think they work, does the tape not wear out?

Echo is usually discrete and easily discernable repeats of a sound. There may be several overlapping echoes, that together become more reverb-y sounding.

Reverb tends to sound more like a real room or space, with reflections of different distances and lengths combining and overlapping.

How's that?
