how much does the contents of an album influence your choice?

probably a fair bit, i very much stand by the idea of the album as an artifact in its entirity.

an example of an album which i think has superb cover artwork (even down to the cd itself) but i dont like the music much is current 93's dogs blood rising:

come to think of it, nww's "chance meeting" + "to the quiet men" and h3o's "fuck" are far from my favourite works of theirs... the artwork is wonderful though.

that stina nordenstam album is beautiful in every way.
