It really wasn’t. A cover by two gay men (one plays the porter and one plays the patient in the video) whose friends and lovers were dying in droves around them while society swept them under the carpet. It’s meant to be a funeral dirge. All the money from it went to an AIDS charity.

Incidentally, it was also the first music video to be acquired as an artwork by the Museum of Modern Art.
