nowt to do with guitar making, but i've been staring at a pile of oak floorboards a neighbour had ripped up and given me, for a couple of years, not knowing what to do with it. but i realised the other day that i could probably run them through a planer thicknesser, and laminate them to make a bench worktop for the shed.
Nice- if you end up with a few offcuts bear me in mind!

Clamps are an absolute essential to any shed endeavours

Guitar is finally alive & playable, but a lot of setting up to do (including getting the nut right).
The bridge came with the wrong width saddles, so I had a minor heart attack on Sunday night when I thought I had made a balls of the allignment of the whole thing. Luckily I had another bridge with saddles of the correct width I could cannibalise

Put a white pickguard on it and you can play Whatever you want
Whatever you like
Whatever you say
You pay your money
You take your choice

Yeah my entire workshop for a few years was

Jigsaw (no name 20eu)
drill (tesco)
2 x clamps

---

Now roughly

4 drills (battery, tesco, sds, gift)
2 jigsaws (1 is vintage)
circular saw/table saw
orbital and detail sanders
dremel set
2 portable workbenches
3 toolboxes (electrical, general purpose, bikes)
angle grinder/bench grinder/wood lathe
chainsaws (electric and petrol)

And I mostly am between making stuff for the house and occasional nixers.

jointer/planer and a chainsaw mill thing are high on the list now.

edit: scroll saw (lidl) / mitre saw that i bought 50/50 with a mate.

i have about half a dozen decent enough hand planes; average cost for the no.4 ones was about €15 each, got most of them at flea markets. they took a little bit of cleaning up but work fine.
Yeah my one belonged to my grandad. It’s probably about 80 years old. It’s a large one, so I don’t use it that often - should try to get a smaller one. The old ones are pretty much unbreakable apart ftoM the handles

lessee of powered tools, i have:
chop saw
cheapo lidl or aldi band saw
lathe
slow wet grinder (that's main for the woodturning gouges)
angle grinder
bench grinder
mains drill
battery drill (invested in a lower end dewalt, very happy with it)
random orbital sander
detail sander
jigsaw
router
one of those electrical multi-tool jobbies
one of those things like a small plunge circular saw (very handy for cutting tiles, actually)
4" belt sander
angle grinder
two heat guns
petrol chainsaw

kinda scared of table saws, have seen a few videos of kicks with them.

might be good to know - dealz have 3x3g bottles of superglue for €1.50. beats paying three or four quid for a single branded bottle. and they come with very fine applicator nozzles too. great for filling small holes and cracks.
