DIY album release - anyone have recommendations for getting cd and vinyl pressed? (1 Viewer)

Used these guys one time http://www.testa-rossa.com/ it was all relatively straight forward. Only thing is you need a vat number in the republic to have them delivered from the UK. I got them delivered to a guy I knew in Belfast and got them from there. Cheaper than anywhere I could source in Ireland anyway. I only got the full colour CDs done. I was handling the print of the sleeve myself form another place. Hope this is of some help..

CD or replication (sometimes called glass mastered CDs). These are the same as you buy in Easons or tesco or HMV. ie they are pressed not burnt on cd burners so they are gonna be totally reliable unlike CD-Rs ( which is CD duplication), these are burnt on CD burners which can cause problems with some cd players. CD replication also means they are pro printed as in the same as you have in your CD OR DVD collection at home. CD-Rs ie duplication sometimes usE printing using inkjet which smudges off when handled etc although some compaines do a decent job ie http://www.mediashack.co.uk or trend studios in dublin or www.clockworkindustries.co.uk
Anyway the point is ask! before you buy! and make sure there are no extras they wack on at the end like printing plates, and glass mastering charges or delivery charges, copying etc. Ask for an all in price.
