Anyone any idea how one (i.e. me) might transfer from DVD onto one of these tape formats?

DVCam, Mini DV, Beta SP or Digibeta

find software that lets you import the vobs & output as PAL DV to miniDV tape

Sony Vegas would be one.

I don't suppose there's a kind soul in possession of the necessary hardware who'd be willing to effect such a transfer?

all you should need is a computer (or a Mac) with firewire & a DV camcorder with DV in.
