DEATH VIA SATELLITE: have moved to The Underground @ Kennedys, Friday 29th May with ALIAS EMPIRE / HOUSE OF DOLLS / BELLAJANE!!

Death Via Satellite is an electro/electronica/new wave/indie club night that forces you out of your recession gloom and the cans of cheap beer out of your hand, and into a soundclash of Dublin & Ireland’s best bands and DJ’s providing electro/alt indie floor shakers to keep you busy til late…

Death Via Satellite’s older incarnation as the outlet for rising bands to strut their stuff has seen the likes of Fight Like Apes, Laundry Shop, Love Lies Sleeping (L.A., USA), The Kits (Australia), Queen Kong, Lights, New Amusement, alazarussoul, Orphan Code, Distractors, Autoban, Green Lights & Stagger Lee play storming shows, & moving to Kennedy's simply means more top Irish bands mixed between guest DJ's at every show manning the decks with a heady mix of electro & indie for all...

Helping DVS relaunch are rising and raved about Dublin electro/dance/indie hybrid ALIAS EMPIRE who headline late on, after tipped sleaze rock from HOUSE OF DOLLS warms things up. Lush, gorgeous piano led indie-pop from Bellajane opens proceedings with electro/electronica/indie DJ letsfightinglove keeping things late and loud... At Death Via Satellite, expect short DJ sets spinning the freshest sounds between acts, to ensure an in-the-mood and hyped crowd for late band sets before letsfightinglove takes over on the decks for the night.

ALIAS EMPIRE is the rebooted name given to Dry County for the few that aren’t already aware. Fusing electronics & programming to synths, live percussion, guitar and bass to give extra dynamic to their impressive sound, Alias Empire deliver a blistering live set, much to the delight of many revellers both here and abroad to date. They have wowed crowds at Oxegen & Electric Picnic at home, and also at international festivals Popkomm (Berlin) & the CMJ Music Marathon (New York). On record they have turned heads just as easily, with their debut album Unexpected Falls garnering rave reviews and of course being nominated for the Choice Music prize in 2008.
The band prepares to release the album in the UK later this year so see them gear up for the next phase of their domination at Death Via Satellite on 29th.

DVS also sees HOUSE OF DOLLS bring their swaggering brand of indie stomp to the stage, where BRMC fuelled rhythms meet some crashing guitar dynamics and howling keyboard sounds to create a musical maelstrom that brims with the confidence of a band at the top of their game. Fresh from a headline slot at the 2009 IMRO Showcase, their upward trajectory continues…

BELLAJANE effortlessly veer from sultry, Parisian cabaret inspired vignettes to introspective, lush takes on loss and uncertainty, all the while keeping ears focused and toes tapping. Arresting live and soon to share stages with such prominent acts as House of Cosy Cushions and The Holy Roman Army, Bellajane have a unique ability to thoroughly charm any listener into instant appreciation.

Doors open at 9, admission a paltry €10 for all of the above! Check the myspace link below for a taster of what to expect from our DJ’s, see you there for drinking, dancing, debauchery and Death Via Satellite...
