Hi everyone,

Here are a few updates for next weeks fundraiser to encourage early arrivals plus news of new additions to the festival lineup in October.

From 6pm there will be a full bar & restaurant setup on the square from Porterhouse Bars & Pintxo Tapas Restaurant in Temple Bar, we’ll set up a seated/table area where food such as paella & gourmet hot dogs will be served plus a discounted beverage price will be in place if eating & drinking (and don’t forget the square will have a temporary roof in place on the night).

The evening will kick off with Patrick Kelleher & His Cold Dead Hands at 6.30pm followed by Channel One, Thread Pulls, The Jimmy Cake, Boxcutter & so on (running order below). Also, Skinny Wolves & Maximum Joy will hold the fort with vinyl-only dj sets kicking off the night & during changeovers. Each band will get approximately 35 minute slots & changeovers will take approx 10 minutes as we’re squeezing in as much over the 7 hours as possible! The bands will be supported visually by our DEAF vj Alan Lambert aka Metaldragon.

So we recommend you buy your tickets in advance, come down early & make a night of it, eat, drink & take in the best bands around Dublin at the moment.

New Spaces for Music – in association with The Model, Sligo.
Challenging musicians and audiences to interact more with their surroundings, the music, and each other. New Spaces brings live music into unusual settings. Intended as a taster experience or a musical intervention, New Spaces for DEAF will see a series of 7 gigs happen in unusual spaces around Dublin; shops, empty offices, a van, an apartment, a train station can all become musical spaces. The date, time and artist will be announced in the DEAF programme but you will have to follow DEAF on twitter, facebook or the website to get the locations, which will be announced online no more than 24hours before the performance takes place. New Spaces gigs are free of charge and last just 30-40minutes, showcasing the talent of some of Ireland’s most inventive, electronically influenced, new acts.
