...thus, anything really is possible.

I'm starting to do a new two hour radio show, eh, mostly from my apartment.

The concept is simple: to play a mix of experimental, marginalised or alternative music, but not alternative in the sense of 'Razorblade Suitcase' by Bush, with a no-holds barred attitude to longer tracks.

The show was initially called,
Cortège for Rosenbloom, a title I knicked from a Wallace Stevens poem.

I did a few last year, but think this is a more focused effort.

Every week I'll have a featured album. This week's featured album is 'Yang' by Aki Tsuyuko released in 2018.
There isn't a particular emphasis on Japanese produced music, but eh, there will be probably be a decent amount of music featuring Japanese musicians.

(i'm actually really enjoying this)

Go Nate. Any listing of tunes?

Thanks, Monsieur de Cake. Yeah, I want to do it in a discreet manner though. Maybe I should just tag the music when it comes up? Maybe I can stagger the playlist by a week.

It's a bit of a pet peeve but seems quite common for lads to give the whole game away when they share a link for their radio show. One guy I know from flirtfm - not a bad lad at all, a good lad actually - every time he shares a link, he writes, "tonight we're going to be playing [ lists pretty much the content of his whole show]." Mystifies me. "Right, I can just lob all those tracks into YouTube anytime. Cheers."

But yeah, I'll post the above tracklisting maybe as I post next week's show.

Stagger dat shit, yeaaaah.

I've NO evidence for this but my understanding of tagging the playlists in mixcloud with the artists would speed up the process of royalties for the artists. Also the track names will display as they come along. I've a notion i 'know' 'that' 'person' and typically people do that to give the artists a chance to gloat about being on the radio on awful social media sites. My own method is usually to screengrab the tracklist and if people ask I post it.

mixcloud said:
In order to keep check of the content on the site, both for the benefit of our listeners and for the purposes of paying royalties to artists, we encourage our users to use the tracklist and timestamping features.

Nonetheless, adding a tracklist is not mandatory so you can skip this step if you prefer.

I am really awful at promoting this. This one is almost from two weeks ago...
