Coronavirus: Better Call Sol - CORONAMANIA (12 Viewers)

There’s also the possibility that he was asking them to model the scenario, which would be sensible, but you’d kind of think the scienticians and numberologists would have done that already.

This just confirms it. I HATE young people
I'm glad you're not my dad.
no. Well yes about the working part but that's not what they've said. They've said this is because they have a tendency to socialise more. Fuck that bollox. Selfish little cunts. Got back from the NCT yesterday and there were about 30 of the little fucks all in their glad-rags, congregated at the entrance to the estate, with bags of cans. If one of them selfish little cunts gets a jab before me I'll go fucking spare.

Yes, give it to people if their job means they'll have more contacts. But fucking NOT so they can go out and party their heads off while the rest of us are trying to do what we're being told.

They need to get out and live. What utter fucking bollox. Pricks have a long life ahead of them. Some people are dead because of their selfish behaviour. Why shouldn't they have to keep the rules like the rest of us?

Sorry, I'm not having this. The numbers bear out that this is the cohort most responsible for spreading this pox. And, while some of it can be explained away by them being the cohort working in jobs that mean they'll have more contacts - and by all means prioritise them - but the majority are the reckless crowd, like the little shits in my estate last night.

Anyway, seems its all probably kite flying, or even more likely, an orchestrated distraction to keep us from talking about Donnelly's shambolic MHQ, or something else. So maybe we're the bigger eejits for allowing ourselves to get caught up in it.

Follow the science lads, follow the science.
The behaviour you are talking about isn't exclusive to youngsters.
but yes, now is not the time for dozens of people socializing together. fuck that.

I'm 45 and I don't have a job. the last year has been no bother to me, I've enjoyed certain things about it
actually.
I don't drink etc and almost never went out when I was young - going to a disco and getting sloshed is the most boring thing I can think of - yuck!
just because I never did this, doesn't mean I'm against it - but the last year is the wrong time for this

when I say youngsters having it hard I mean kids too - my nephews are really looking forward to playing some sport again.
people have to got to school or work unfortunately (shudder) and herd immunity is what it's about.
look into to and it might be worth considering or maybe not.

not many 30-50 years olds are high risk either and people who are chronically ill don't seem to get special consideration under the age only criteria.

yeah, Donnelly could have just said this to distract us. might be the one thing he's good at.

"as under-30s are more likely than other age groups to socialise together in large numbers."

Are you selfish? Don't care about the risks and health of others? Dont worry, you'll be rewarded first.

I also cant help but wonder where everything woukd be at if people didnt go nuts at xmas.
(I know this was essentially encouraged by the guidelines at the tine, but a lot of people need to cop the fuck on)

I said something similar on twitter last night and got berated for it. But no one can give me an even remotely convincing argument that the proposal makes sense. One person who gave out to me argued I was wrong because she has 2 daughters in that cohort and they don't socialise. I hadn't the energy or inclination to tell her that she was MISSING THE FUCKING POINT, so I didn't bother.

I mean, I understand the logic being put forward, but it doesn't wash.

This isn't about vaccinating or not vaccinating. Its about who gets it first, as dictated by who science sees as being more vulnerable.

I've been wondering about younger first for a while, the problem is the language and reasoning for it. Sometimes,to get the right message across,a little white lie is better. But our leaders have proven time and again that communication is not a strong point for them.

this is a great point, and the reason why I'm almost convinced its all a distraction. They've (and I presume its Donnelly himself, because everyone else seems to be denying all knowledge of the proposal) singled out 20-30 year olds and have specifically said its because they socialise more.

Dead right its more than that age group that are acting the fuck, and maybe if they put more effort into policing the rules (and its mind-boggling that they haven't availed, in any way, shape, or form, of rapid testing), we might get somewhere.

The mentality around rules and laws in this country is that you don't break them, only in the case where there's a risk of getting caught. There's almost zero chance of getting caught breaking the covid rules, most of which probably wouldn't stand up in a court of law anyway.

Anyway, sorry to every young person in Ireland for my earlier rant. You're all great and the world is in good hands. Just, you know, don't go partying for another bit. Holdfirm, staysafe, etc.

OK fair enough then.

in December I think the people in my family taking the most risks were those who Xmas is important to, which was my parents generation.

I am going to continue being very cautious for another few weeks. then hopefully if things don't go out of control again I'm up for meeting people one on one in May.
wait and see for the moment.

I think this has been debunked at this stage. Donnelly got what he wanted. He knows trying it would be a very career limiting move for him. He also got everyone rounding in on the kidz, blaming them, instead of blaming his useless, incompetent ass.

There was an article circulating yesterday about how Italy tried this approach for a while, leading to a greater number of deaths. You'd see jokes on twitter about how people reckon they're experts based on stuff they read on the internet, and they pick up on things our leaders and our scientists miss. The tragic thing is, that its probably true in the case of a cretin like Donnelly.

More people were diagnosed with Covid-19 worldwide during the past seven days than any other week since the start of the pandemic - topping 5.2 million globally.
The trend, just days after the world surpassed 3 million deaths, comes as countries are rolling out vaccinations in an effort to get the virus under control.
The data from Johns Hopkins University showing a 12 per cent increase in infections from a week earlier casts doubt on the hope that the end of the pandemic is in sight. The weekly increase surpassed the previous high set in mid-December.

If companies were forced to share their findings then, e.g. Pfizer could have Moderna's method for not needing to store the vaccine at -70, and we could have the best vaccine rather than a market of competing vaccines. Just something that's worth pointing out every now and then.

Anyway, when do you actually reckon you'll get yours? I'm completely at a loss. Could be May, could be November.

In some ways I’m not in any hurry. I’ve no social life to get back to, and I can’t go back to the office until I’m vaccinated, soooo....

Given a vaccination rate of 122,041 a week and an uptake of 74%, you should expect to receive your first dose of vaccine between 4/9/2021 and 22/10/2021.
