Just on the exponentials from xmas

from the point we are at now 1400ish, at christmas it was trucking from 1000 - 1700 over about a week and then the post xmas exponential kicked in around 1700, where it jumped from that 3000s overnight.

What i'm saying is if, by about next wednesday you are seeing less than 1500s or that region, then things are going great vaccine wise.
If be next weekend, still seeing less than 1700 ish, also good news.

Stats here saying that it's all the youths this time.

Looking promising so far. I still think wednesday is the day of reckoning.

Less than 1500 wednesday is positive

something like 2200 by wednesday is ohhh fuck

I don't care about covid, it's the plague of patriots and freedom fighters we need to stamp out. A vaccinated cousin of mine got covid recently, had to take a week off and is feeling wrecked. Not sure what vaccine he got, he'd be late 50s. Fuck everything.

My understanding was always that the vaccine never guaranteed to stop infection, but does reduce the chance and also pretty much guarantees greatly reduced symptoms, which is probably more important really.

apparently the hospital figures are skewed. Up to half of those cases are people who were in hospital for non-covid reasons but tested positive in there.
I don't get how that matters.

Is it the case that they have tested +ve for covid in hospital but are not being treated for covid symptoms so should not be counted in the hospital figures? But if you test positive are you going to be spending the remainder of your hospital stay in a Covid ward so in effect are using a Covid bed?

Are all scheduled patients still being tested for Coivd pre entry to hospital? My mother has had 2 Covid thests in the past year before scheduled trips there.
