The morons on my fb who have all been 'lockdown is a conspiracy, i'll do what i like' and moving onto 'i'm not taking a vaccine'.

I mean if I could see my nephew for christmas, that'd be great, thats all I want to do, and these fuckheads are going to make it impossible.

I'll spend the whole christmas tearing them to bits on fb if they fuck this up for me.

I just mean, UK releases vaccine, suddenly a whole load of US university types WITH NO TIES WHATSOEVER TO THE US DEVELOPED VACCINES NO SIR and the like start querying the results, possibly in benign ways possibly not, the media picks up on it as "UK vaccine is fake and will kill you," by the time it's all sorted out people have decided not to take the risk and to go with US vaccines. If you applied the same scrutiny to US developed vaccines loudly in the media would they have similar problems? (The answer might be that they already did and they were fine)

It's all a bit conspiracy minded I know but considering earlier this year US officials were literally stopping shipments of PPE bound for the rest of the world on the runway and saying they'll buy them for twice the amount... this story feels like a bit of a stitch up to me.

I mean, we've already decided to write off the Sputnik Vaccine (showing encouraging results) on the basis that Russians can't be trusted 🤷‍♂️
we need a 'WHICH VACCINE WILL YOU TAKE', poll

personally, its Oxford for me.

does anyone know if its organic and vegan though?
Seriously ? almost no chance I'd say.
the pharma companies never give a shit about animals.
if I need to take a medicine I just accept it's almost certainly not going to be vegan.
and it will have been tested on animals.
In the case of tablets a lot of them use a gelatin base which if there is enough demand could changed.
e.g. remember Guinness used to have fish gelatin in it until about 5 or 6 years ago.

I used to be on a liquid version of the anti psychotic medicine Risperdal which was a
rarity in being a vegan option but after sleeping badly for years i switched to a non vegan
med that came in tablet form.

back to Corona issues:
since I've been talking (about) shit on thumped recently.
there's an elephant in the room as regards reopening shops -
it's couldn't be done without also reopening restaurants etc.
as there simply wouldn't be any toilets available.

Guerrilla discharges could become the activist trend this December.
- shitting in the changing rooms at Brown Thomas.
- piss against the wall in front of the Dail or the doorways of FF or FG HQ's.
or maybe a Paddy Power if yer not in Dublin.

So, apparently Christmas is ON. Have as many people over as you like, within a two week period, just remember to wear a mask when preparing the Christmas dinner...

Absolutely gobsmacked by this, they're guaranteeing a massive spike in cases, and a mammoth lockdown in the bleak and dreary spring.

I can't visit my mum in hospital at the moment. I'd much rather visits were back on a weekly basis then having a stupid fucking hooley on the 25th, and not seeing her again for months on end.

I don't feel I would be comfortable cramming into my parents sitting room for Christmas.

Not being in very close contact with people, then being squashed together for a day would just be a petri dish of infections (as you may have a reduced immune system by not socialisingfor so long)

I'm pretty sure I'm not going home for Christmas this year. Coming out of lockdown for Christmas when daily cases are still in the hundreds is massively irresponsible and guaranteeing a 'third wave' in January or February. It seems that our response to the virus is simply "Can we keep getting it more wrong as we go along? Okay, let's do it then."

did i see some stat briefly earlier that in the red c poll the SuBuPo (as i am now calling it) showed only 55% of SF supporters polled indicated they'd take the vaccine? was overshadowed by the news that SF have reached their highest level of support ever.
