Amazon gift cards - deadly for kindle owners... can be emailed, or printed off at home if you've a nice printer.
Magazine subscription - even with international postage, US magazine subs are cheap. UK ones not so much. The recipient gets an email notification to say the subscription has been purchased for them. Handy.
