What is the point of them?

I think they should all be done away it.Leave the journaling to journalists

Don't listen to Newstalk, they spend as much time encouraging people to call/text/whatever as they do anything else.
That's a revenue generating exercise though, right? They get paid for every text.

The Off The Ball lads were some cunts for that. Pretending they'd never heard of some famous film and every cunt would text in like crazy telling them how great it was.

I read the comments on a guardian article yesterday, it would have driven me to drink but for it being Good Friday.

But thinking about, maybe comments on news sites is designed to instead of a person posting their angry responses on internet forums, they post it on the articles themselves so it acts as something to stop people from discussing the article elsewhere and have the argument on their own website.

The crew on OTB have been so bad since the second captains lads left. That Joe guy who anchors is so bad at saying words.

You can circumnavigate the text charges now by calling them dumb pricks on their twitter.
