from talking to my 8yr old son, I'm very much in the minority when it comes to not letting him play certain games. Thankfully at the moment he still gets his slightly older mates not to put on certain games if he's in their house and they don't seem to give him a hard time about it.

They are playing Black op's though that their moronic parents have bought them.
"sure it's just a bit of shooting" is what I was told when I gently implied that it wasn't really suitable for 8-9yr olds. But I have no problem saying to my sons mates parents that I don't want him playing any 16+ games in their house.

I've no idea what the constant barrage of violence is doing to the mind of a 9yr old, but I can't imagine it's something entirely positive.

They don't talk to me much at school pickup/drop off any more though...
