Hiya

My girlfriend has recently become a stallholder for a company called Barefoot Books.
They're an independent Children's Book publisher and produce some very high quality books and associated puzzles, CDs and puppets.
It's really hard to get these books through shops (both online and real-life book shops) as the main channel they distribute the books is through the stallholder programme.

The website is as follows:
http://joannajobson.mybarefootbooks.com/

You can order them through this website.
Another way you can do it is ordering through my girlfriend. Basically she gets sent the books in bulk and then distributes it out.
We're back in Dublin on the 21st, so I can get the books out to you the next day (if you're in Dublin).
Send me a PM if you want to do this.

A bit about Barefoot Books:
Barefoot Books is an independent business that was founded in 1993 by two working mothers - Tessa Strickland and Nancy Travisy. They shared the desire to create beautiful and meaningful picture books for children - books that would make learning and reading fun; introduce children to different cultures and nourish their imaginations.

These award winning books celebrate art and story and build a respect for diversity both in culture and in nature. Essentially they are great fun and full of beautiful illustrations from top artists. Many of the books come with CDs and/or puppets or puzzles linked to the book.

Barefoot recognise that a book is always more than just a book - sharing a good story and beautiful art with a child helps to foster that child's creativity and also helps to deepen and enrich the adult-child relationship. Each book that is developed at Barefoot is created with both the child's and the parent's interests in mind.

not a single enid blyton or malcolm saville amongst them. ive only read The Twits, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole and Dracula.

pretty insane of them not to include any of the harry potter's or lord of the rings or about a million others. I would guess it's a puffin/penguin only list then?

edit:

"The categories were picked to show that there's a Puffin for everyone

right of course. It pays to actually read these things first doesn't it?

Yeah, Journey to the Centre of the Earth is brilliant.

If you liked that you should read the White Darkness , it's full of amazingness and one of the best books i've read this year.

they have percy jackson and the lightning thief though...what the fook

roald dahl, moomins and enid blyton were what i mostly read...and*ahem*, sweet valley twins :p
the luvender books by june considine were deadly
which witch? (eva ibbotson), the turbulent term of tyke tyler (gene kemp), roll of thunder hear my cry (mildred d. taylor), one more river (lynn reid banks) were all favourites too

other books i found about the house as a child included 'more joy of sex', 'my father's house: a memoir of incest', and 'delta of venus: erotica by anais nin'
deadly

i went directly from the Secret of Moon Castle by Enid Blyton to The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. from there on it was all horrors until i was about 16. the closest our house came to the Joy of Sex was the world book encyclopedia.
