I hadn't heard anything about that before now. Not even that they were being investigated.

Given the age profile of their squad this could be a very bad position for them to be in. It also means that any of their players with contracts up for renewal and seriously hold them over a barrel because they'd know that if they left Chelsea wouldn't be able to replace them.

The ban is on registering new players. They'll be able to renew existing players contracts as they're already registered with them.
