I've a soft spot for Italia guitars..usually pretty cheap - made in Korea - few of them floating around eBay but you can get them from some French and Spanish guitar shop sites. Love the look of them adn they sound sweet..

Bought this cheap aul bass last year and it serves its purpose..was about 300 quids including postage from thomann...like the look of it and sounds good but frets are a bit buzzy..probably nothing a bit of a service couldn't fix...

I'v got a Epiphone les paul junior, small light weight guitar, plays well too but it lacks the sound you get from more expensive gibsons (being cheap and all). Im looking for a pickup change for it, think its got one of those p90 style ones on it already, anyone got any recommendations???

any squier vista series made in japan are really great guitars like the jagmaster and super-sonic

there was also a range of quier pro-tone guitars that were made in korea but the quality is excellent, i have the f-hole and the humbucker teles, both are deadly

I've one of these Ibanez Blazers from the 1980's, great guitar and pretty cheap on ebay..

Someone mentioned SX basses as being good value. I have one and its shit! Even with upgraded pickups. An absolute beast with terrible action.
