The trailer and unconvincing wig makes it look like a comedy sketch

I'll watch it anyway

The cast of love hate in unconvincing wigs is putting me off

People speaking as if they're on stage too

But I'll stick with it and see

I'm not convinced this is any good as a drama but it is bringing back memories.
I clearly remember Rise and Follow Charlie drifting up from the village as it was being blasted from a PA as some FF guy was visiting. Strange times.

No doubt this will do wonders for the reinvention of Haughey. He was some boyo, stickin it to Thatcher wha'?

And expect sales of this stuff to go through the roof

I don't think camp and fun is their intention and it's that imbalance between stagey camp and serious drama that's putting me off it. It's too silly to make me really angry

Gubu should be fun next week

I wrote a song about him ages ago.

Let me know when they use it for the end credits

Kept thinking how much Gillen was over-acting, and then went back and watched some footage of the real Haughey, and he did speak like that more or less, so fair enough.. Felt like they had too much ground to cover in too short a space of time, and hence a lot of actors delivering exposition, there wasn't much dialogue in it that felt natural or much space to develop the 'characters' beyond basic outlines. Was the real B. Lenihan Sr that much of a goon? My memory of the politics of that era is reduced to a few fragments of Scrap Saturday..

I watched it just there hoping to see a few raleigh choppers and maybe a shot of the malahide road. There was neither
