There used to be a thread for this and it was cool

There's a wonderful sound that the loose cobbles on pedestrianised streets like Grafton and Mary St make when you bike down them when they're deserted, it's not quite like horse hooves, or like banging two coconuts together, but it's very pleasing.

My mate in New York live all the way uptown in Manhattan, in a place called Inwood I'd never hard of before, I'd previously thought once you hit Harlem the next place was The Bronx. Anyway, when you hear steam coming out of the pipes at the nearest subway station to his apartment it sounds like Penderecki's Threonody for the victims of Hiroshima.

I remember my buddy texting me about my ETA in the Village.
