They're pretty easy to fit- you just need a small drill bit and a steady hand

There are a few videos on youtube showing how to do it

i'd be going to the vibramate route i reckon. so no drilling. not that the drilling would put me off though...

That looks really simple with the vibramate. Can't go wrong really.

Would really like a Bigsby for my SG at some stage.

yeah. when i was in canada i had a go on a nice bigsby equiped gretch, and i really liked it.

vibramate all the way chief, going to put one on this soon

and I like that with the vibramate i know it's on straight (a big source of most peoples tuning issues)
and that i can undo it if i want to

yeah, can't imagine i won't like it, but it's nice to know i can revert to a standard setup if i like.

ordered it anyway. i'll post pics when its on.

got it yesterday and had it fitted in about 15mins. will post pics later but it seems to work like a treat.

i think if you click below you see the pic. anyway, its deadly and not a hole was drilled.

yep, a '61 reissue.

the bigsby is still quite stiff, but even with new strings on it its surprising me with how well its holding the tuning.

good timing. been using it more with si schroeder lately.

zero complaints. the trem is loosening up a treat and the vibramate has no negative impact on sustain. the tuning is holding up really well. it's nice to know i can go back to the original bridge, but i can't see it happening any time soon.

it being an SG, you get that neck wobble too, but even so, once the strings have been stretched and there a bit of graphite applied to the nut and bridge saddles it comes back to pitch just fine, once you don't go too mental.
