Best/Worst Britpop era bands (2 Viewers)

all their singles are pretty good, in a pure 'of the era' way

they always sounded like pastiche though

I didn't realise they had more than two singles, string of Top 30 hits!
Shed Seven had a few decent tunes too.

I think maybe we're stuck with something like Hurricane #1, or did they have any decent singles?

What did that band Urusei Yatsura actually sound like? I remember thinking they seemed cool but never actually heard any of their music.

Britpop.......from Finglas???
Always loved this one. Still sounds great.

actually no, not that I can think of. I'm not sure I can remember any Shed 7 fondly either as well. I still shudder when I think of them.

They are a genuinely underrated band. They were top notch but never quite made it in the way some of their British contemporaries did, like Ash.

I like a lot of Brit pop for what they are; middle of the road, catchy retro-inspired British pop, some better than others. They're grand, not going to rush out to buy the records but not rushing to change the radio station. I'm not surprised the rest of the world was non-plussed about the whole phenomenon though.

Embrace were shite, Verve very overrated, Supergrass had a couple of good tunes. Pulp were over hyped as well, Oasis the same, ..it really was not the golden age of music everyone gets all nostalgic for. The Boo Radleys had a good tune, as did The Mock Turtles.

Excellent song here along with some ripe 90s TOTP. I remember being 13 and wistfully wanting to live in London in my 20s. The classic route.
