The question of what we expect prisons to actually achieve is a much larger more complex moral issue and not one that i delve to deeply into to be honest as it's far too murky a territory for even me.

Sorry, but I find it hilarious (and not in a good way) that you, who have twice in the last week advocated people being raped as punishment for their actions, can claim to be opposed to capital punishment.

What might help is if judges stopped thinking that compensation is a fitting punishment. Or if people stopped talking about rape in a way that suggests that there is ever a time when it is ok.

While people think that someone, anyone, could 'deserve to be' raped sick people will find ways to justify their actions. Even phrases like 'she's asking for it', milf, 'I'd give her one' meant to be harmless are granting permission to people with no moral compass, conscience, or whatever it is that you believe governs their view of right and wrong.

As I've already said, trivialising and joking about sexual assault contributes to making it seem a lesser crime, when it is not. If someone steals my wallet I might lose some money and its a hassle, rape ruins lives and not just the lives of the victims. It causes physical and psychological damage and many victims, whether male or female, never recover from either.

Look up the definition for yourself. You publicly supported the idea of a woman who shot a lion being raped (fucked, whatever). See that exactly what I was saying, to you it's a joke. To someone skewed enough to think raping someone is ok it's permission and vindication. To someone who's been raped it's one more person telling her (or him) that s/he somehow brought it on themselves.

I think I have a pretty good sense of humour, but there are certain things I think profoundly unfunny, sexual assault, physical violence and anything that involves bullying and humiliation of another person.
