I used to love gigs that happened a week before payday. The last time I was paid was 18th of December!so no fun till 31st of January...and the Christmas electricity bill came today.boo.

Sooo tired. Great night, big crowd, cheers for coming down folks. what is it about January Ballrooms?

Anyways well impressed with Owensie, great singing voice and well crafted intricate melodic folk songs. Groom may have been the best I've ever seen them, very rocking, bodes well for the upcoming album, looking forward to it very much. MDR was legend as always, some great crowd sing along moments and a diamond version of "What's that sound?". It was good to get some new Spook tunes out, bit of refinement needed but we had great craic. Now onto round 2 of the Ro vs Spook battle.

But seriously, really enjoyed the Spook, especially the new stuff. Groom were fucking great too, some seriously tight tunage, and Ro has one of the best voices I've heard in a long time and is an absolute gent of a man to boot.

I hadn't even been to a gig in ages so it was great to hear some new tunes and meet some new faces.

The Ballroom will be sadly missed when its gone.

I had to leave early so missed nearly all the Spook but the part I caught was really great, enjoyed Owensie's tunes a lot and Ro as always - of course it'd be preferable to see both in a quieter venue. Great to see nearly all of Thumped there. Quote of the night was from a tipsy Ann Post (with name badge) while watching Ro: "I feel like I have to whack off to his songs, they're so good".
