Love the Autumn (once it's not pissing rain). Generally tend to listen to more music on my stereo at this time of year so have found myself digging out pretty specific stuff to suit the weather/mood over the weekend. Naturally, different people will have different tastes. Autumn not in full swing but with leaves beginning to turn and a definite chill in the air, this is what I scored it with this weekend anyway.

Listened to Jon Brooks '52' early on Friday evening. The whole theme of the album is about a house (his grandmother's). Went down a treat on Friday evening looking out the window from inside keeping a glimpse on potential northern lights shenanigans.

On the same label as Jon Brooks, Clay Pipe Music, a Vic Mars release. perfect for this time of year I think.

Not straying too far from either, The Advisory Circle (aka Jon Brooks again) on Ghost Box records and also The Owl's Map by Belbury Poly. For whatever reason i think this type of music suits the time of year very well.

Music For Church Cleaners Volume 2 went down a treat yesterday morning aswell.

this spacey new age beauty was on point aswell

There is no bad time to listen to good tunes, but they can pack a bit more of a different punch at different times of year, throw up a few recommendations for this time of year if you can be bothered

Recorded on an Autumn equinox and released the following year on the Autumn equinox (they did the same thing for the spring equinox and the solstices).

This whole album reminds me of tramping around a damp field full of leaves in the fresh air wrapped up in warms coats and scarves

Definitely Nick Drake for me, Pink Moon and this one:

The Ghost Box records certainly suit this time of year alright, and I'm a sucker for most of their releases. Particularly the mid-late 1970s BBC theme tune vibe from this

I also have a soft spot for this version of an old standard:

Nice - I hadn't listened to Gorky's in an age and went on a trip down memory lane last week. So many great tunes. This one fits in here, I reckon:
