Apart from the last 5 minutes I thought it was pretty excellent. Some nods to classic '50s sci fi and unless I am totally film illiterate (possible) to Tarkovsky too.

The I'm a military guy I don't understand linguistics shtick wore thin a bit.

I actually thought it was boring as fuck, the big shots were horribly overdrawn, and the plot was pseudo-intellectual bullshit.
Also, Murca good, China bad, just in case that wasn't clear, right?

Yeah, it was just an souped up Independence Day. And your one - the communicator lady - could hardly string a sentence together the entire film, she was so overwrought.
