For the 2nd instalment of The Thin Air and Medium Presents residency in the Bello Bar, we have selected some of the finest artists in the experimental and electronic scene.
Laura Sheeran:
Gaining comparisons to PJ Harvey, Fever Ray and Bjork, over the course of her last two albums Sheeran has blazed a trail for herself marking her out as one of the most singular artists on the Irish scene. Her upcoming 3rd album SPELLBOOK, looks to cement that identity through a more electronic sound and clear visual presence.
Bad Bones:
In a short amount of time Bad Bones' dark-electronic-pop has managed to cause quite a stir. 2016 has seen her release a pair of singles 'BEG' and 'GAMES' which have made stirs across the Irish scene and caught the attention of The Irish Times, RTÉ and nialler9 to name a few.
With a style evocative of Arca, Robyn and FKA Twigs, Bad Bones' fascinating musical and visual style has marked her out as one of the most exciting acts coming out now.
Katharine Philippa:
With a unique style she refers to as ‘Reflectivism’ Philippa combines live piano and organ with rich electronics to create a dense yet sensitive sound. Philippa is one of the real stand-out acts of Belfast's currently thriving music scene.
