Such a fresh slant on the genre. Incredible gameplay / mechanics / balance / learning curve as always.
I never buy titles on day one, but Mrs. Pants bought this for me, and it's amazing.
Anyone else into Soulsborne stuff, or this?

I've a mate playing it who says it's great, apparently it's very Zelda-like. Playing Souls' games is pretty much his only pastime these days though.

That's the way it gets. I've seen people saying online that Soulsborne games have ruined all other games for them - makes most other games seem just like mindless button mashers that babyfeed you gameplay.

I remember when games were like Dark Souls as a standard, before in-game tutorials and button mashing were a thing*. I think there's room for it all - I sometimes just want to have a semblance of control while things blow up and not necessarily a soul crushing experience.

*Prince of Persia and Top Gun both put Dark Souls into the second division in terms of difficulty and cruel, cruel learning curves.

Right now I’m (supposedly) playing through
Far Cry 5 on PC
Crackdown 3 on xbox
Just Cause 4, red dead redemption 2, various others I’ve forgotten on ps4
And the kid is giving me grief for not making enough progress for him in this season of Fortnite.

I don’t have time or the willpower for any super difficult games right now.

There's nothing worse than a backlog of pleasure. I've banned myself from buying more games as I've a backlog of about 30 rapidly aging titles on Steam.
